Chez Sois {take five}

Finally, all the "pretties" are starting to be installed at Chez Sois and this is my favorite time of a project.  I get to see everything we've selected being installed and my design vision comes to life!

My client was on a well-deserved vacation for three weeks and so much was done while she was away.  There were a few moments I had to make some quick decisions on her behalf, but thank goodness nothing major happened.  The walls were put back up, cabinets were installed and tile started going in.

Here are the beginnings of the family room bookcase.  I'm in love with the cup pulls!
These glass doors are on the dining room cabinet.
I was able to get a lot of detail in this small shower.
Master bath is coming together.  Can't wait for the lights to be installed!
Powder bath beauties....wait till you see what's going on the walls.
The second bedroom is becoming a dressing room (aka big closet), starting with these cabinets.
Paint samples went up last week.  We're going with a soft neutral throughout.  Please ignore the green...that was there and it's going to be quickly covered up.
Here's a sampling of what we are thinking of doing on the master bedroom ceiling.  The wallpaper is going in the master bath (love it so much).

Chez Sois {take three}

Things are moving fast now at Chez Sois and I'm excited to report that we have started with selections.  Plumbing was this week and we also started looking at some beautiful lighting options

This little beauty will be in the master bath.

This is the sink we're using in the powder bath.

Here are few photos from my site visit this morning.  All the old has been taken away and now we are creating the new.  The contractor is doing a great job.

This is the view into the new master bath.  We took two small bathrooms and created one larger one.

View from Family Room into New Dining and Kitchen...This is where the biggest transformation is going to take place with trim and cabinetry.

Cabinets are on the agenda for next week as well as tile. We're also deciding on wood flooring and weighing the choices.  I promise to keep you posted on the progress!

Chez Sois {take two}

My Chez Sois project is moving along.  We've gotten a lot done over the past few weeks.  I'm working with a great team on this project and enjoy sharing ideas.  Our first meeting was with the cabinet maker to discuss all the preliminary details.  Cabinetry is a big part of this project, so getting that process going will serve us well as we move forward.  We're not only doing new cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms, but I'm designing a custom built-in for the family room and this won't be your standard installation.  More details coming later...

I also did a final walk-through with the contractor before the demo starts.  This is always a good idea so that everyone is on the same page and there are no surprises.  We talked a lot about budget to make sure what we all had the same expectations when it came to selecting the interior finishes.

These stairs are getting a whole new look - flooring, railing and a fun surprise.

Here are some sneak peeks into a few items I've presented, along with some great inspiration photos.

Chez Sois {take one}

I'm starting a new job and I'm hoping to bring you all along on the design journey with me as I help my client transform her townhouse from a seventies gem into a true reflection of herself -  "a totally feminine home".  It's a top to bottom renovation - flooring, walls, cabinets, lighting, etc.  We're even tackling new furnishings.  Every surface (inside and out) will be changed and I couldn't be more excited about the possibilities.

The first phase in doing a project like this is creating an overall design plan.  I go room by room, making a list of what the client wants done, what needs to be done and what I think would make the space amazing.  I review my initial notes and the photos I take at the initial consultation.  It's crazy how much you see in photographs that you miss during the first walk-through.

Here's a little taste of what the place looks like today and you can see lots of inspiration photos here on my Chez Sois Pinterest board.  The client put together some great idea books on Houzz and I pulled from that to create the Pinterest board as we move through this project.  I'll continue to add to it, so please follow.  It's going to be a fun ride!

Family Room - The dining room is on the other side of that railing.
Family Room - look up and this is what you see.  A window into a bedroom.

Kitchen - I can't wait to get my hands on this.

Kitchen - Need I say more??

Front Exterior - Paint colors are in desperate need of a change.

I hope you will continue to follow me on this project and see the transformation that will take place over the coming months.  Oh, did I mention we have a September deadline?!?

Jennifer
